From 1995 on, UNESCO has included the historical centre of Ferrara in the list of World Cultural Heritage as a wonderful example of a town planned in the Renaissance and still keeping its historical centre intact. Ferrara was one of the Italian Renaissance courts, famous for the Romanesque-Gothic style Cathedral, the Estense Castle, the Schifanoia Palace, the Municipal Theatre of XVIII century, the Palazzo dei Diamanti, the walls and the Po Delta Park.
